Which one are you more afraid of? no brainer.
I would like to tell you that the Skins have this in the bag, that we'll hold the Cadinals to less than 17 points, that CP rushes 110 and 2 TDs, that Jason Campbell continues his promising growth and whips a 30 yarder to Cooley and a long one to Santana, that Laron Landry gets his first pick against old man Warner, that Jason Taylor and Andre Carter combine for three sacks alone, that we win a winnable game in impressive fashion at home like we should.
But alas, I cannot commit to such grand predictions with certainty. As you'll have noticed, I italicized "should" above because "should" is the golden word when discussing today's game. Allow me to highlight Arizona's few strengths which inspired me to depend on the word "should" so readily.
-The Arizona Cardinals come into Landover today at a respectable 2-0.
-The Arizona Cardinals' Kurt Warner appears set for a Gannon-esque renaissance
-The Arizona Cardinals appear to have replaced the Pats as having the most explosive Wide Receiver pair in the league.
Now let me discredit them. They've only beaten the 49ers and the Dolphins, and they have yet to play a semi-competitive defense. At any minute Kurt Warner can look old and mortal. And they bring an aging Edgerrin James to a team with an overall promising run defense. On paper, the Redskins are undeniably the better team. But the Cardinals may be playing with a chip on their shoulder, intent on proving they are not a fluke team who can only beat basement dwellers. Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald are legitimate receivers, and if the Skins defense has one glaring weakness, its their inability to defend the pass effectively. But again, anyone who watches football has to admit the Redskins offense carries a lot of promise and that if they realize their potential early today, like by the 2nd quarter, then the Cardinals should not stand a chance. This game will be closer than it should be.But if you are going to bet on this game you probably should ride with the burgundy and gold, who will pull it out, 21-14.
