$$$ The Money Match $$$

this thing of ours:

that's Smackdown vs Raw 2006 for the Playstation 2. We do this thing here every Saturday night, we call it the Money Match. It works like this; apparently there is this WWE match titled the "Elimination Chamber" which is pictured below.

This cage pictured here is a physical real-life picture of this thing. The way it works is that the match starts with two guys in the ring, while four others wait in each corner "chamber", entering every two minutes. Eventually, all six guys are going at it until one by one they are eliminated, leaving the last two competitors to go at it for the title.

Now here's how we play.

Six guys get together in this stuff little room. We all throw two bucks in in a pot, making it a total 12 bucks. From there, we pretty much draw straws for first pick and we each pick a wrestler from there to represent us in the "Money Match." Got that? It gets weird though; the thing is, no human actually plays.
All of us pick our guys, and then WE LET THE COMPUTER PLAY FOR US. Six fake characters all just jumping around and kicking the hell out of each other and climbing all over this stupid cage, with 12 dollars in cash singles on the line. What's weird is just how much attention to detail there is in the "Money Match." In theory, you would think that picking the Big Show would be a wise move considering his mass and strength right? Not so fast. The typical "Money Match" runs at least 15 minutes every Saturday night, and it's in real time. So guys like Kanye,Batista, and Big Show aren't worth peanuts. In this game you need to go for the most athletically gifted guys available. Rey Mysterio has been extremely impressive, because after all he only weighs about 160 pounds. Chris Benoit, Booker T, Chris Jericho, and Edge are all reliable for a good showing as well. Another big factor that makes the endurance thing so compelling is the entrance number of your character. If you enter with someone in great shape like Rob Van Dam with the fifth or sixth entrance spot then you've got a really great shot at making it to the finals and possibly winning. But if you pick a weaker more athletic guy like Mysterio and he has to start the match in the ring, then it's pretty much a lock that he's going to get beaten to a pulp and gas out before the sixth guy even enters the fray. All in all it's a blast, and many of the fake computer game matches have actually turned out more exciting than anything I've seen on WWE television in the last three years.

If you have a Playstation 2, two bucks, five other buddies with two bucks, and Smackdown vs Raw 2006, then I highly suggest you throw yourselves a "Money Match." It's one of the most fun things I've probably ever done (nerd alert, nerd alert.)
