I have a huge bone to pick with NFL preseason football. Is it really necessary to have 4 games? The majority of the players on the actual rosters dont ever play in the games, they watch from the sideline, as their coaches do not want them to get hurt. This preseason has really backed up my opinion as we have seen 2 franchise players go down for the season in this last week. This being Umenyiora and PG County's own, Merriman. I will be the first person to celebrate Umenyiora going down, but it is a shame to see a teams season go down the drain because of unecessary preseason games. My team, the Cowboys, have also fallen victim to this horrible trend. They have lost their starting left guard for the first 5 games, as well as the nickel linebacker for 1 game, and 2 very important backups and special teamers for at least the first 2 games of the season. The preseason desperately needs to be cut down to about 2 games, hopefully these injuries help to persuade the powers that be minds.
